Instructions for the 3 Branches

If you do use each of the links for the three branches, make sure you start with the Executive Branch first. The others have been shortened to cut out parts that are reduplicated from the Executive Branch. This is about 4 minutes worth of material. The Legislative and Judicial Branch will skip this comprehension in their respective videos. However, adapt as you please. As always, provide me with anymore suggestions you may have.

For lessons, if you want, you can use all these videos to make one 50 minute presentation.

Steps for doing so:

1) Use the video from the appropriate section (executive, legislative, or judicial)

2) play the video twice so they can make sure to fill in any answers they are unclear on. This will take about 20 minutes, a little longer with The Executive Branch video. You can play the review before having them watch the video to engage the learners.

3) Do the review. This will take 3 minutes.

4) Next, have them do the Test Questions. This could take about 20 minutes due to about about 3 minutes per question and a total of about 6 per each.

5) This leaves about 5 minutes for any technology delays and preparation needed for the activity.

If the students do not need to listen to the activity a second time, ask them how they may choose to run for election in The Executive or The Legislative Branch. You could also ask them what they think about controversial legislation or about famous court cases for The Judicial Branch. However, be careful when doing this.
